I have been accepted to Google's CS Research Mentorship Program (CSRMP)
ㅤ
I am thrilled to announce that I was accepted to a competitive 12-week program (CS Research Mentorship Program) at Google Research! And I will join the class of 2021B cohort.
I’m very grateful about attending a series of exploreCSR workshops sponsored by Google Research, held by Prof. Shana Watters and Prof. Maria Gini during my sophomore year. These workshops sparked my attentiveness in pursuing a career in research and guided me to narrow down my research interests.
My current research focuses on federated learning in healthcare. I started to admire healthcare as a perfect setting to bridge the gap between theory and practice. While working with real medical data, I experienced having models deployed and coming back to see the theoretical challenges. Real-world deployment often helps surface non-obvious problems with existing methods, and these insights are hard to obtain when playing with simulated data. I can’t wait to be matched with a Google mentor and small groups of peers who’re also interested in clinical machine learning and AI in healthcare!
(p.s., picture is a homemade coffee as usual, but with a “G” this time!)
